Hi Raja,
Here are some basic definitions in simple terms:
1) What is production scheduling profile
Some default settings for your production order. They are defined in customizing and assigned to material master.
2) What is float before production & float after production.
Days between basic start/finish date and the scheduled production start/finish date. They are added to anticipate things that can prevent the production to start, such as insufficient raw materials stock, etc.
3) What is re-order planning
Consumption-based material planning that makes the system create procurement proposal once the material is consumed up to a certain stock level. That stock level is called reorder point and is usually above its safety stock.
4) What is Replenishment lead time
Total time required to produce/procure a material (including production time, goods receipt processing time, floats, etc)
5) What is order type
Key that differentiates orders according to their purpose. The order type contains a range of parameters which affect the way the order is processed, such as: number range, how routing and BOM is selected for the order, what documentations should be recorded for the order, how the order cost will be settled, etc. Typical order types could be: normal, rework, test, etc.
6) What is production type
Method of of production based on its complexity, frequency, and stability of production process. Common production types: discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, repetitive manufacturing, KANBAN, etc.
