How are you updating the kernel ?
You need to delete the old kernel from <Drive>:\usr\sap\SID\DVEBMGS00\exe and also from <Drive>:\usr\sap\SID\SYS\exe locations.
Stop all the SAP services from services.msc and update the kernel.
If there are leftovers from the previous kernel release then SAP will fail to start.
